A Counselling Service provided by
Rebecca Wallace (RGN,DTC,DPS)
What is Counselling
Counselling is a process in which a person may talk and share personal issues and concerns that are causing distress. This takes place in an informal and confidential setting.

The overall aim is to provide an opportunity for the person to explore together with their chosen counsellor, ways in which they can make changes, grow, develop personally and live a life that is more resourceful and which is experienced by them as more enriching and satisfying.
As a member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) I adhere to and work within an ethical framework for good practice as laid down by the professional body.
In accordance with this, I receive regular and ongoing supervision as a means of ensuring high standards in my work.

The service is available to anyone eighteen and over and I work towards a policy of equal opportunity, striving to avoid any discriminatory practice.
An assessment is offered in the first instance as a means of allowing the person to explore whether counselling is right for them.

It is also an opportunity for the Counsellor to assess whether they are the person best suited to counsel for the issues raised.
Further information about counselling services can also be sought and given at this stage.
Counselling is also offered for couples.
